The picture detail in the high quality 12MP setting is almost embarrassing. I never knew that I had facial hair on my nose but in portrait mode you can really zoom in to that level of detail! (Although I'm not sure that anyone would appreciate seeing that image) I was particularly impressed by the level of thought that has gone into the design, even to the extent of putting a raised rim around the shutter release button. It reduces the chances of accidental exposure and helps finger sensitivity by letting you feel how far the button has been depressed for auto-focussing.
